Everything we do at CED starts with local – local control and decision-making and a deep commitment to the local communities where our people live and work.
At CED, we put the power directly into the hands of managers at each of our locations across the country, empowering them to make decisions best aligned with making a positive, lasting impact on their communities, customers, and employees. When our companies and people are close to the communities where they live and work, it creates a true sense of purpose.
Purpose then drives our locations and workforce to make an impact on where it matters most in supporting their communities and customers, through sustainability, volunteering, financial support and more.
Sustainability is one of the key areas where our purpose-driven workforce is making an impact, through volunteering and financial support of local initiatives.
They may have different names and serve different areas, but every location’s success is critical to the future of CED. Our locations are only successful when their local communities are thriving as well. We believe that the best decisions for a community are made locally, and CED is there to empower and support that.
Although each location operates like a small, local business, CED supports each of our locations with the resources, funding and tools to help them achieve and support what matters most to them, assuring the workforce at each location is able to deliver on their chosen purpose.
With an overarching culture based on respect for our people, service, integrity, and reliability, CED’s businesses are driven to make a local impact with global reach.

Environmental Sustainability
Through Renewable Energy and Waste Reduction
When we reduce energy at thousands of companies in hundreds of communities, it makes a global impact.
What matters most to our customers is what matters most to CED. Our customers are prioritizing the reduction of energy usage and waste. And CED is working alongside our customers to make sustainability a reality.
What’s good for the environment is also good for business. CED is funding the growth of Greentech Renewables, one of the largest solar distributors in the country – helping drive solar energy adoption in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. CED is also committed to supporting our locations’ efforts to reduce waste and energy consumption in new construction and manufacturing operations.

Driving Energy and Waste Reduction at Our Facilities
CED’s main service center runs on solar power.
A 446 kWh system that on average offsets 60% – 70% of our electrical consumption on average. *
CED has committed to digitizing and integrating sustainable practices into our facilities. We have installed energy efficient lighting and solar, and many of our processes are now paperless.

Our locations have a committed focus on providing sustainability solutions, services and partners that can help upgrade their lighting, reduce energy usage, waste of resources, and adopt renewable power to achieve their sustainability goals, to make a difference for our communities and world.
Social Responsibility
Through Community Improvement, Empowerment, and Support
Local community engagement is inherent because CED fosters each location to be a part of the community, not just a city or town where we sell. The success of the community is our success.
Our managers understand that their decisions and actions have a direct, positive impact on their team and their communities, which creates a sense of duty in caring for the community. From helping fundraise for local community events to strengthening and supporting the communities of Maui after the devastating fires to rebuilding from the storms in Little Rock, we see it all across the country.
What matters to the communities is best known by the communities we serve, and CED is here to empower and support our people and locations’ purpose.

Helping Support and Rebuild
Disasters that impact our communities can happen anywhere and many of our locations are there to step up where they can.
In response to the wildfires that devastated the towns of Lahaina and West Maui, Greentech Renewables Hawaii has devoted considerable renewable energy and financial resources to aid in disaster relief. CED’s Maui location and Greentech Renewables collaborated with the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF) to donate $500,000 to the Maui Strong Fund.

Equiping Kids in Need
CED locations from Los Angeles, California to Brunswick, Maine are volunteering their time, energy and resources to drive donations of toys and supplies for kids in need in their communities.

Feeding Community
Thousands of dollars of food have been collected and donated to our communites’ food collectives and food banks that help support those in need.
CED Central Ohio has collected over $5,000 of food and groceries for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and CED Electrical Wholesalers in Miami have raised $1,200 for Feeding South Florida, to name a few.

GROWING TOGETHERAt CED, we combine the family feeling of a small business with collective ownership through local profit sharing, accompanied with the resources and support of a large company that puts its employees’ value first.
CED hires and elevates good character, which drives service and integrity at all levels of the company. CED supports our entire workforce through benefits, mental health support, and training. We set our employees up for success.
CED not only values diverse perspectives and equal opportunities, we believe they are essential for innovation. We are deeply committed to our “Women in Industry” initiative to recruit and develop more women in the electrical distribution space.

Perspectives Welcomed
CED is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce where individuals are engaged and can bring their whole self to work – where everyone belongs. The combination of our corporate values along with the inclusion of our differences is what makes us CED.
CED has a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Board (DEIAB) comprised of representatives from each region who collaborate companywide to explore and share best practices. Each region representative is then their respective region’s resource for DEI initiatives at a more local level.
OUR PEOPLE IN ACTION
Women in Industry
CED provides personal, professional, and industry training to current and future female leadership at annual meetings/conferences. These meetings/conferences are designed to facilitate networking and connection with other CED female leaders from around the country. This training includes presentations from internal and external leaders as well as a structured mentor-partnership program.
Also, CED has continuously supported the NAED Women in Industry (WII) Forum through financial sponsorship, participation in WII leadership committees, and repeatedly sending one of the largest delegation of attendees from any electrical distributor.

CED’s own Joyce Blassingame was recognized with the 2021 NAED Women in Industry Trailblazer Award, which is awarded to women with exceptional careers who have positively impacted and supported women in the electrical distribution industry.
